By Homer
Genre: Epic Myth
The Odyssey follows the events of the Iliad, which was the story of the Trojan war. The Odyssey, which has come to mean "Great Journey", is about Odysseus's return trip home from the war that seperated him from his newly born son. This story is considered one of the greatest works of fictional literature ever created. Although who it was created by is under speculation, it is said to be created by the prophet Homer. This would be an extremely important book to save because it's written in poetry, and contains lots of similes, metaphors, and personifications. Homer was truely ahead of his time in his writing. This book could teach people how to write books with advanced writing techniques and demonstrate the proper use of similes and metaphors in writing. The book is also full of imagery and very descriptive paragraphs, making it an ideal model to base future literature off of.
